BOPLA focuses on human machine interface

Bünde, September 20, 2023 - This year, BOPLA is focusing on the field of computer-aided human machine interface (HMI).

The field of HMI has become a very dynamically developing focus at the enclosure technology manufacturer BOPLA. We also offer forward-looking solutions for HMI for numerous applications. We want to focus more on this area," explains Nikolai Wilke, product manager for operating units at BOPLA.

The company offers a wide range of variants for touch/display integration and tailors them to individual customer requirements: Solutions with continuous front foil (resistive touchscreens) or continuous cover glass (capacitive touchscreens), where no dirt edges may remain.

Bringing light into the dark

Highlights include illuminated membrane keypads, because they optimize work processes in a safe and reliable way, says Nikolai Wilke. "Our solutions are particularly well suited for dark ambient conditions. State-of-the-art LED technology enables an optimal lighting experience at the workplace."

  • Safe operation in the dark
  • Efficient and power-saving technology
  • Eye-friendly adaptation to lighting conditions

According to Wilke, these are just some of the advantages of BOPLA membrane keypads with illumination.

USB keyboards are also part of the portfolio. BOPLA develops these membrane keypads specifically for immediate operation on the USB port - based on printed electronics. Configurable keyboard controllers are integrated into the membrane keyboard. This makes the ribbon cable narrower and directly pluggable into USB-A sockets.

» This eliminates the need for additional customer hardware to operate conventional membrane keyboards. Plug & Play operation is based on the HI D 1.1 standard without additional drivers. This makes our USB keyboards particularly user-friendly. «

KUNDISCH adds printed electronics to BOPLA portfolio

Products from BOPLA's sister company Kundisch GmbH & Co. KG complement the product portfolio of the enclosure technology specialist from Bünde. In doing so, KUNDISCH is linking up with technology from BOPLA: the manufacturer of membrane keypads and touch systems with headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen is showing its smart solutions for printed electronics.

These are used at KUNDISCH, for example, for "smart heating" and are used as transparent foil heating in areas characterized by a high degree of automation. BOPLA's sister company will be presenting its printed electronics using alternative serial interfaces and integrated antennas. "And of course the whole thing perfectly packaged for demanding industrial environments in the BOPLA housing," summarizes Nikolai Wilke.
