Standardised – BOPLA enclosures for railway engineering

The demands made of electronics enclosures as used in rail vehicles are especially high, because they must comply with the strict test regulations of railway standard DIN EN 45545. In addition, a high level of impact resistance (IK) is required for use in outdoor areas of railway systems. Use in trains requires high vibration strength, and if the enclosures are used in control centres, user-friendliness is a decisive factor.

No problem for the flame-retardant, self-extinguishing UL 94 V-0 polycarbonate enclosure! For rail use, the materials of our electronic enclosures correspond to requirement set R 22 according to DIN EN 45545-2, hazard level HL 3. As per f1 listing in accordance with UL 746C for the materials of which our enclosures are made, outdoor use is also not a problem. Moreover, the enclosures themselves provide high levels of protection against penetration by dust and water in harsh environments.

Our standardised 19“ metal enclosures are another sector of our products. They successfully passed the shock and vibration tests according to German federal railway standard BN 411002 and also IEC 61587-1, so they can be used in bus and rail vehicles. In addition, a large number of different designs, sizes and accessory components provides maximum flexibility for the 19“ enclosures.
