Membrane keypads with double contacts guarantee advanced safety
Membrane keypads with double contacts are designed for high safety requirements; this technology is often used in the medical technology or in sensitive areas of the measuring and control technology. This technology makes it possible to let the user identify two different switching functions:
The first switch layer gets activated at an operating force of 4 N – the second switch layer not until 8 N is reached. The tactile reply can be increased by an embossing or an extra acrylic-inlay – the closed surface adds further robustness. Supposed operational mistakes can be avoided. The membrane can be made of UV-solid polyester, different from the standard surface material.
The whole layer construction leads to a thickness of 3,0 mm. The lifetime of min. 1 million switching cycles can also be realised with this technology.
