The top and bottom sides have different designs and can be used alternatively as an operating and display surface. Depending on the size, snap-on caps are available as standard in 6 different colours and an infrared-permissive variant. With sizes 555, 655 and 865, definable access protection can be achieved by use of the cap: tool opening (standard scope of delivery), push-button or blocking. The blocking snap lock provides access protection; fast, easy battery changing can take place by means of the push-button. These cap functions can be set separately for top and bottom.
Power supply to the electronics is variable according to the size: 2-4 micro batteries, 2-6 mignon batteries and 1-2 9V block batteries. The batteries are inserted behind the caps. This design permits standard ingress protection IP 40 to be increased to IP 65 if necessary (not with BOPLA-ARTEB 115). Versions with fitted battery compartments BE 30 (9V block or 2x mignon batteries) or BE 60 (2x 9V block or 4x mignon batteries) are available on request for sizes 555, 655 and 865. Ingress protection cannot be increased to IP 65 for the BE versions.
On the cap sides a plug-in groove is provided between the base and the lid for front panels or mounting plates. For example, this makes it possible to use adapter connectors during field use with IP 65 protection.
Up to 3 installation levels are available in the enclosure for circuit boards or mounting panels.
All sizes are available with a continuous membrane keypad area; 4 sizes additionally with display opening including a non-scratch window and stick-on frame which also contains mounting bosses for standard displays. The display screens can be adapted to the display area by means of printing.
